GW professor Stephen Saltzburg, who helped draft the letter, says he is happy that the House Judiciary Committee had the letter in hand this week when it held an oversight listening to that reviewed Barr’s tenure as Attorney General. Saltzburg served in the Justice Department beneath Barr during the Bush administration. “The extent of the condemnation of Barr’s conduct is extraordinary,” he says.
The Law Department represents the mayor, metropolis companies, and city officials in all civil litigation, in juvenile delinquency proceedings in Family Court, and in prosecutions within the New York City Criminal Court underneath the New York City Administrative Code. Among the department’s other duties are drafting contracts, leases, municipal bond issues, and other legal paperwork for the town; reviewing local and state laws; and providing authorized advice to metropolis officials on a wide variety of issues. The Winter term of the academic 12 months was profoundly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the Faculty of Law transformed to a mandatory credit score/no-credit grading scheme for all JD college students in all courses that ended in April 2020, together with full 12 months courses.
